Consumers using ‘unbundled’ legal services generally report a positive experience and it has the potential to widen access to justice, groundbreaking exploratory research has found.
“Unbundling”? I’m not entirely sure what that means, however, anything that improves access to the legal system in this time of “austerity” is a “good thing” in my book.
Barristers are part of this “unbundling” – and have been for a number of years.
We can be instructed under Direct Professional Access without the need to use a Solicitor. The Bar Council has just launched the Direct Access Portal – you can access it here
They also have a Twitter feed @DirAccessPortal which will give you more information.
I have been taking Direct instructions for nearly 5 years and I thoroughly enjoy working with my clients. I have also developed marvellous relationships with Solicitors so that I can refer matters to them in the course of a case as needed.
Give it a try.
