From the start of the new legal term this year, the Courts in the Rolls Building will start administering two pilot schemes:

  1. the Shorter Trial procedure – which is aimed at resolving business disputes on a commercial timescale (trial within 10 months of issue and judgment within 6 weeks thereafter), and
  2. the Flexible Trial procedure – more flexible cmc procedures where the parties so agree with the aim of achieving a more simplified and expedited procedure that the full trial procedure currently provided for under the CPR.
